The Cameroon Senate has appointed Gustave Léopold NGANE as its new Secretary General. The appointment was made during a Senate Bureau meeting held on January 2nd, 2024

NGANE, 62, a native of Campo in the South Region, brings over 30 years of experience in public administration to his new role. A seasoned Principal Civil Administrator, he previously served as Technical Advisor to the President of the Senate since 2016.
His extensive career includes stints at the Cameroon Press and Publishing Company (SOPECAM) and the General Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Services. NGANE holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Yaoundé 2 Soa.
As Secretary General, NGANE is expected to play a crucial role in supporting the Senate’s legislative duties and contributing to the country’s governance.
This development comes at a time when Cameroon is seeking to strengthen its institutions and promote good governance. The appointment of NGANE is seen as a step in this direction, leveraging his expertise to enhance the effectiveness of the Senate.
